Intraoperative ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction and sudden cardiac arrest during radical cystectomy: A case report

چکیده
Perioperative acute myocardial infarction is a life-threatening event. The aim of preoperative evaluation identifying at-risk patient developing postoperative complications and to undertake risk reduction measures prevent such complications. We report case male with good functional capacity unknown history cardiovascular disease undergoing radical cystectomy who suffered intra-operative cardiac arrest ST-segment elevation ischemia. Postoperative urgent coronary revascularization was done dual antiplatelets therapy prescribed. course uneventful no bleeding complication. Major perioperative events in noncardiac surgery are still probable despite the current guidelines evaluation. Early antiplatelet administration were feasible did not produce critical surgical bleeding.

Prolonged cardiac arrest complicating a massive ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction associated with marijuana consumption
Recreational substance use and misuse constitute a major public health issue. The annual rate of recreational drug overdose-related deaths is increasing exponentially, making unintentional overdose as the leading cause of injury-related deaths in the United States. Marijuana is the most widely used recreational illicit drug, with approximately 200 million users worldwide. Although it is general...

Cardiogenic shock following myocardial infarction remains a significant clinical challenge. Newly reported 30-day mortality rates remain in the 40% range and are not affected by the use of intra-aortic balloon counterpulsation (1). Few cardiac conditions are more deadly. The major exception is patients who suffer cardiac arrest with their ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and, ...

OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to compare outcomes and coronary angiographic findings in post–cardiac arrest patients with and without ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). BACKGROUND The 2013 STEMI guidelines recommend performing immediate angiography in resuscitated patients whose initial electrocardiogram shows STEMI. The optimal approach for thosewithout STEMI post–cardi...
متن کاملSurvival and neurologic recovery in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction resuscitated from cardiac arrest.
OBJECTIVES We examined outcomes of patients resuscitated from cardiac arrest owing to ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and predictors of survival and neurologic recovery. BACKGROUND Immediately after resuscitation from cardiac arrest owing to STEMI, many patients show signs of neurologic impairment, and benefits of percutaneous coronary intervention and subsequent prognosis ...

A 71-year-old woman presented 2 weeks after thoracic endovascular repair of a mycotic descending aortic aneurysm. One week after discharge she presented with chest pain and transient lateral STsegment elevation on electrocardiogram (Figure 1a). Urgent computerized tomography (CT) scanning (Figure 1B) demonstrated no evidence of endovascular leak or aortic dissection. Her symptoms recurred with ...
